Her father "Dr. Oden Rylus Wright" who was a well known figure head from the underground special research network "Green Earth" who worked for a small privateer branch of the american and european goverments. He and his family were sworn under supervision to work for these growing privateers for protection to keep the existence of his family a secret. Karen's father the only real lycanthrope of existence was used to develop special serums to cure cancerous diseases of all kinds in an instant when injected with this special genetically engineered blood donated by her father. In 1998 , Green Earth decided to start work on the huge sattelite project dubbed "Datalyse" which this machine was to replenish all of earth's known resources by feeding off the sun's solar storms to radiate renewed energy for the dying planet. Also during the same year where Karen just turned 16, which was the first day of her transformation. Though Karen did live the quiet life of a young sheepish little girl who knew only to study and keep her father updated on her progress in a specialized private school owned by the goverment. Karen did learn the nature of her curse and also the horrible past of her kind from her father who was always there for her most of her life. The mother however was a mystery, Karen barely knew much of her mother since she was only 4 years old. The only thing she could remember was her mother sitting near the window in her room before she last saw her. Which was the day after she was taken to another complex of the giant facility for further study. In that same year, the father took karen to a special room to have her put into cryo sleep till society was able to accept ker kind once things got better for the world. During 2013, the explosion which came from the sattelite that caused it to disrupt space which opened a hole to an unknown void. This dark dimension from the mysterious void was clouded by a heaping pile of black matter which merged onto the earth's atmosphere. Thus creating the world into some kind of an artficial netherworld. Most of the piece's from the explosion in space from the sattelite landed on earth burrying these crystalized stones all over the planet. Each of these stones did contain energy which could power whole entire cities for many centurys which was valued greatly during that time. Some several years later, Karen did awoke from her deep slumber. Little does she know, the place she was raised did infact change and the people who worked with her father were no longer living. Seems the company had changed its self also. Karen did feel like she was living in a fairy tale world just like in her little children's stories that she read as a small child since she was still gazing around this brand new high tech futuristic facility. After having dinner with the new chairman, Karen did have many questions to ask about the whereabouts of her parents and the previous company she was being watched under. She was told that her folks were fine and located somewhere else in the facility. She was granted under certain conditions that she did what the chairman asked and that everything would be fine after if she donated blood to the department each every third night during the lunar cycle. Over the course of several weeks. Karen started to dislike the fact that she had to wear a plastic collar around her neck and swallow pills during her sleep. She later thus conducted her escape during one particular night and was warned not to visit certain areas of the facility unless she was priviledged to do so. Before heading into the room where her family was being kepted, Karen's collar triggered a strong upsetting pain in her stomach, to a point where it was about to explode. Karen knew it was the pills that was causing her to react violently to the pain. So in terms she sliced a small incision with her claws in her gut and pricked the fake dummy pill with the hidden frequency from inside her stomach. Karen then escaped the facility without knowing if her family was still alive and well. She then fell head first into the snow. This was the alaskan wilderness of Juneau. She slowly picked herself up and dragged her wobbling body to one of the caverns near the beach before the storm outside got worse. She fed on fish and other critters for serveral days till her condition got better. Fully charged and replenished, Karen decided to head back to the facility, but little did she know she had forgotten the location since the place had no distinct scent to it which was strange to her. Though she felt sadden, another distraction along the path grabs her interest which was the smell of dried rabbit meat. Karen knew she didn't have much meat inside her poor belly since of her injuries but she knew she needed it badly. Rushing and pouncing her way to the place she last smelled it, suddenly out of nowhere, she gets strung up by her two feet from a snare made from a rare plastic that was super tough even for her strength. It seems this snare was designed for monsters. Yes ever since the explosion from the sattelite, a whole host of monsters poured onto earth's surface because of the merging of the two dimensions. After hanging and staring at that rabbit meat for several hours, karen looses concentration on her focus from the blood flow to her head being hung upside down. A mysterious man covered in advanced hunting gear emerges onto the scene. The man quickly shoots a dart into Karen's backside which contained enough seditive to knock out an elephant making her doze off into a deep short sleep. After awaking in a small metal storage shed, Karen notices silver molding on the door knob. She knew it was impossible to escape since silver has a huge reaction to her hand. She wanted out, but she was told to be quiet by the old man. She was later fed periodically and was questioned when things got quite during the night when she was alone with the old man even though he was behind the door and she was inside the metal room. The man explained his ordeal to Karen, because he was dying slowly by some unknown cancerous disease and feared he wouldn't be able to take care of his grandaughter any longer due to his strange illness. Karen agreed to help the old man, and was offered special training to control her meat eating habbits during the lunar cycle. She was then introduced to Lilly, his little grandaughter. The girl who didn't fear much for monsters since her family had been killed in some freak accident long ago. She was delighted to meet Karen, with a soft pet to Karen's furlike head. They fast became friends and looked up to eachother as god sisters. The old man did explain the part about his family being related to an ancient indian occult who knew certain old black and white magic. Plus the fact they were people who also practiced medicinal herbs for many generations. After several happy years after lilly's grandfather past away, Karen was working at a nearby town doing her best to provide for Lilly as a part time nurse at the hospital in town in disguise using Lilly's mother's identification card to work there. The world of Karen still operates as a regular society but with little changes in its ways of goverment. Since laws were set so that mutants weren't allowed to work in human cities. Karen did her best to leave no traces when she went back home after peak hours after work during the late afternoon. Karen does get hunted down by many patients and pretty guys from town since they always leave love letters in the nurse's office asking for her phone number and being available to go out on dates. Karen does use her big tail to hide her foot prints while hiking back up the high mountain trail where no one is allowed to enter since its owned by the goverment. During the daytime Karen works as a nurse but during the night she decided to head back to town as a part time super hero guardian dressed in heavy clothing so people won't get startled of her being a werewolf an all when they see her. She does her best getting rid of the other mutants, monsters and evil beasts feeding on the farmers livestock during the night and protects the kiddies when they go to bed having to fear less about the dark unknown. Karen is like the kids idol, there little super hero wolfy who protects them while they sleep. There are even times when Karen gets alittle greedy and decides to raid the grocery story for food just to grab a late night snacky but leaves money on the counter when she leaves. There are even times she gets caught by farmers at gun point when she does little good deeds and sometimes the kids step in and protect her from getting shot while she runs for her escape. Karen's only free time is when she is doing chores, working out or helping Lilly Chan with the hot springs hotel they run in the mountains as a small bussiness for eskimos. Since Lilly earns much more money helping her own people. Now this is where we come into the comic. Chris and Mr. Serko. Chris happens to be quarling with his rival in a debate to collect payment for the crystalized FS stone they both found. Serko wants to use this stone to help him change his looks since he was born as a blue mutant man who can't be around sunlight because it burns his skin. He has to wear heavy clothing and a mask so he could walk during the daylight. Chris has this belief he can trust everyone he meets because he lives by his code of honor being a good person. Serko uses this as a huge advantage over Chris because he knows Chris is way too soft on his foes. So he shoots him in the gut. Since hearing shots fired in the direction Karen was headed in. She rushed to the scene where the scent of blood got stronger. There lied the lifeless body of Chris laying in a pool of his own blood over the icy snow.
